Stronger, Healthier, and More Independent After 60
Evidence-based exercise classes designed by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist to help you move better, feel stronger, and stay independent for longer.
As we age, we naturally lose muscle mass, strength, and balance — but the good news is this can be slowed, stopped, and even reversed with the right exercise. You don't need to accept a decline in strength or independence as inevitable. With the right guidance, your best years of feeling strong and capable may still be ahead of you.
The Four Pillars of Healthy Ageing
Every session is designed around the things that matter most for staying independent and active after 60.
Strength
Maintain muscle mass and independence. Stronger muscles mean easier daily tasks and greater confidence.
Balance
Reduce falls and improve confidence on your feet. Better balance is one of the most important investments you can make.
Mobility
Move more freely with less stiffness. Improved mobility means getting more out of everyday life.
Cardiovascular Health
Support your heart and overall health. Regular cardio exercise is one of the best tools for longevity.
What Exercise Can Do For You
The evidence is clear — regular, structured exercise is one of the most powerful tools we have for maintaining independence and quality of life as we age.
Exercise is medicine — and it's never too late to start
Research consistently shows that people who begin regular structured exercise in their 60s, 70s, and beyond can dramatically improve their strength, balance, and quality of life. Our programs are designed to meet you where you are today and take you further than you thought possible.
Your Path to Stronger & Healthier
Simple, clear, and supported every step of the way. Here's exactly what happens when you come to us.
Initial Assessment
Your first appointment is a relaxed, face-to-face assessment with one of our Accredited Exercise Physiologists. We take the time to understand your health history, current fitness level, any conditions you're managing, and what you'd most like to achieve. There's no rush and no judgment — just a genuine conversation.
Your Personalised Program
We design an exercise program built specifically around your goals, abilities, and any health conditions. Our over 60s classes are run in small groups so you get individual attention within a supportive, social environment. Every exercise is appropriate for your level — no two programs are the same.
Progress & Keep Going
We monitor how you're going and progress your program as you improve. Regular re-assessments keep you on track and motivated. Many of our members tell us the group itself becomes one of the best parts of their week — friendly faces, shared goals, and a team that genuinely cares.
This Program Is Designed For You —
Even If You Think It Isn't
The most common thing we hear from new members is "I wasn't sure if I was the right fit." Here's who we work with every day:
If any of these sound like you, you're exactly who this program is built for. Our initial assessment is specifically designed to understand your situation before a single session begins — so nothing is guesswork.
Medicare Rebates & GP Referrals
Many of our over 60s clients are eligible for Medicare rebates through a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan from their GP — making expert Exercise Physiology more affordable than you might think. We also accept private health insurance, DVA, and self-referrals.
Not a Gym. A Program Built Around You.
We specialise in working with people who want expert guidance — not a one-size-fits-all class where nobody knows your name.
Accredited Exercise Physiologist
Led by a university-qualified AEP, not a personal trainer. Clinical expertise with every session.
Small Group Sizes
Small groups mean you get real attention and supervision — not lost in a crowded class.
Individualised Within the Group
Everyone in the class has their own program tailored to their goals and ability level.
Safe, Progressive Exercise
We progress your program as you improve — evidence-based, never rushed, always appropriate.
Hear From Our Members
People just like you who decided to take back their strength — and never looked back.
“I can't recommend Amanda highly enough. After recently suffering a bulged disc in my lower back, largely due to a weakened core following three pregnancies, I was feeling frustrated and unsure about how to safely rebuild my strength. From our very first session, Amanda was incredibly supportive, knowledgeable, and attentive. She met me exactly where I was, taking the time to teach me how to properly engage my core through deep breathing techniques and targeted core exercises. Her approach made me feel safe and confident, and I've steadily felt my strength returning under her guidance.”
Everything You Need to Know Before Your First Session
The most common questions we get — answered honestly.
Do I need a referral to see an Exercise Physiologist?+
No referral is needed to book directly with us. However, if you have a GP Management Plan (GPMP) from your doctor, you may be eligible for Medicare-rebated sessions. We recommend speaking with your GP about this option, as it can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket costs.
I haven't exercised in years. Is it too late to start?+
It is never too late. Research consistently shows that adults who begin exercise in their 60s and beyond see significant improvements in strength, balance, energy, and independence. Our programs are specifically designed for people returning to exercise after a long break, and your coach will start at exactly the right pace for you.
What happens in the first session?+
Your first session is an assessment, not a workout. Your Exercise Physiologist will take a full health history, discuss your goals, understand any conditions or limitations, and carry out some simple movement and strength tests. From there, they build a personalised program designed specifically for your body and your goals. Most people leave feeling reassured and excited.
I have a chronic condition. Can I still participate?+
Yes, and in many cases exercise is one of the most effective ways to manage chronic conditions. Our Exercise Physiologists are university-trained and accredited to work with conditions including arthritis, osteoporosis, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, Parkinson's, and post-cancer recovery. We work closely with your medical team where needed.
I've had a joint replacement or recent surgery. Can you help?+
Absolutely. Post-surgical rehabilitation is one of our specialties. We regularly work with people recovering from hip and knee replacements, shoulder repairs, and spinal procedures. Your program will be designed around your surgical guidelines and progressed carefully to rebuild strength and confidence safely.
I currently have a few injuries. Will exercise make things worse?+
For most people, the right type of exercise actually reduces pain and improves function over time. Our coaches are trained to modify exercises around your specific limitations so you are never put in a position that aggravates your condition. We move at your pace, and your comfort is always the priority.
Is this covered by Medicare?+
Yes, in many cases. If your GP has set up a Chronic Disease Management Plan (also called a GPMP or Team Care Arrangement), you may be eligible for up to 5 Medicare-rebated allied health sessions per calendar year. We are a Medicare-registered provider. Contact us and we can help clarify your eligibility before you book.
Does private health insurance cover Exercise Physiology?+
Most major private health funds cover Exercise Physiology under extras cover. The rebate amount varies depending on your fund and level of cover. We recommend calling your insurer to confirm your entitlements. We can provide invoices in the correct format for you to claim.
Can I use my NDIS or DVA funding?+
Yes. We are registered to accept NDIS funding and DVA (Department of Veterans Affairs) referrals. If you are unsure whether your plan covers Exercise Physiology, get in touch and we will help you work through your options.
Will I be exercising in a group or one-on-one?+
We offer both. Some people prefer the personalised attention of individual sessions, while others enjoy the energy and social side of small group classes. Our groups are kept small so your coach can still monitor your form and adjust your program as needed. We can talk you through which option suits you best when you get in touch.
How quickly will I see results?+
Most people notice improvements in energy and how they feel within two to four weeks. Measurable changes in strength, balance, and mobility typically become clear within six to eight weeks of consistent attendance. We track your progress along the way so you can see exactly how far you have come.
What should I wear and bring to my first session?+
Comfortable clothing you can move in, a water bottle, and a list of any current medications if you have one. If you have recent scans, X-rays, or specialist letters related to any condition you want us to work around, bring those along too. Everything else is provided.
Give us a call and speak directly with one of our team. A real person will answer, take the time to understand your situation, and point you in the right direction. No obligation, no pressure.
